Reveries of Michigan is an exhibition of 25 of my latest paintings, drawn from a decade of exploring and painting the landscapes of West Michigan. Over the years, this region has become a primary source of inspiration for my work. Through the consistent practice of plein air painting, backpacking, and camping along the shores of Lake Michigan, I have developed a deep connection to the landscape.

These adventures across the dunes, lakes, rivers, and forests of West Michigan have become the foundation for countless memories and unexpected encounters with nature. I have witnessed a swarm of migratory monarchs moving through an isolated forest, discovered delicate fulgurite scattered across sandy dunes after a storm, and spent countless hours watching the ever-changing shifts of light and color across the sky and water.

These paintings are an expression of those experiences—a personal reverence for the landscape and for the complex, fleeting, and seemingly endless beauty of the natural world.
